Students and Families Advocating for Pediatric Cancer

Bringing California students and families to the State Capitol to advocate for children with childhood cancer and share their stories

Students and Families, Advocating Together

This initiative brings together students and families from across California to advocate for children affected by childhood cancer.

At the inaugural California Pediatric Cancer Advocacy & Awareness Day, students and families engage directly with policymakers, clinicians, and advocates — and share their own stories — on behalf of children affected by childhood cancer, including DIPG.

Why This Matters

  • Brings students and families into health policy conversations statewide
  • Raises awareness of childhood cancer and rare diseases like DIPG
  • Gives families a platform to share their stories with lawmakers
  • Encourages more compassionate, informed health policy
